CertifyMeUp Privacy Policy
This notice explains how CertifyMeUp handles information when you use the website, mobile app, web app, and related support services.
Effective and last updated: July 31, 2026
CertifyMeUp ("CertifyMeUp," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the professional records entrusted to the service. Questions about this policy or a privacy request may be sent to support@certifymeup.com.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you register, we collect information such as your name and email address. Authentication credentials are handled through our authentication service. Optional profile information may include first name, last name, and date of birth where you choose to provide it.
Professional and training records
The service stores information you submit, which can include certification type, jurisdiction, license or credential number, expiration and renewal dates, continuing-education activities, course titles, providers, hours, dates, categories, notes, ledger allocations, and historical renewal records.
Evidence files
If you upload or share a file into CertifyMeUp, we store the file and information needed to connect it to your account and training record. Evidence can include completion certificates, course PDFs, receipts, or other documents you choose to provide.
Subscription information
Apple App Store or Google Play processes payment. We receive subscription and entitlement information from the applicable store and our subscription-management provider, RevenueCat, such as product, status, transaction identifiers, renewal state, and related account or device identifiers. We do not receive your full payment-card number.
Technical and support information
Our hosting, authentication, storage, security, and subscription providers may process technical data such as IP address, device or browser type, operating system, request timestamps, error information, and service identifiers. If you contact support, we collect the information in the request and subsequent correspondence.
YouTube features
When you use the YouTube search and playback features, search terms and requests are sent to Google or YouTube to provide results and media. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- create, authenticate, and maintain your account;
- store, synchronize, display, organize, and export the professional records you request;
- attach and retrieve evidence files;
- provide subscription access and restore purchases;
- operate YouTube search and watched-time workflows;
- provide support, respond to requests, and troubleshoot errors;
- protect accounts, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms; and
- improve the service using operational feedback and error information.
3. How information is shared
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed with service providers that help operate CertifyMeUp, including cloud database, authentication, file-storage, hosting, subscription, app-store, email, and support providers. Relevant providers include Supabase, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, Expo, and Netlify.
We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the service; with your direction or consent; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate protections.
4. Data retention
We retain account and professional-record information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may permanently delete your account from the app. Account deletion removes associated profile, certification, training-log, ledger, settings, billing-profile, and evidence data from the active service, subject to limited backup retention, legal requirements, fraud prevention, and transaction records maintained by app stores or payment-related providers.
Deleting your CertifyMeUp account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel store billing separately through the store used to subscribe.
5. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect information, including account-based authorization, encrypted network connections, private evidence storage, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your credentials private and export important renewal records according to your own retention needs.
6. International processing
CertifyMeUp and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or information about how personal information is handled. You can edit certain information in the app, export available renewal records, or delete the account from the app. You may also contact support@certifymeup.com.
You can manage or cancel a subscription through Apple App Store or Google Play. You can control certain device permissions and browser settings through your device or browser.
8. Children
CertifyMeUp is intended for adults managing professional credentials. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Website data
The marketing website does not currently use advertising cookies or a marketing sign-up form. Hosting providers may keep standard server and security logs. If analytics, advertising, or lead-capture technology is added later, this policy will be updated before that use begins where required.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The effective date above will identify the current version. Material changes may also be communicated through the website, app, or account email where appropriate.
